MOMMY & ME (Ages 6 mo-2 years with a grown-up (mom, dad, grandparent, or caretaker)
Perfect for the child who still needs a little more time before separating from the parent or caregiver. Introduction to dance, movement & socialization with a focus on gross motor skills, hand/eye coordination, and direction in addition to having fun through dance games and songs. This class allows for your little one to explore movement with props, and learn basic social & motor skills structured for their age. It is a great place to make new friends and begin working on separation from guardians.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT (Ages 2-3)
This is a 45 minute class for toddlers working on separation from parents and gaining more independence in the classroom. The class consists of basic dance steps, stretching, and terminology through songs, stories, and play for hand/eye coordination, major motor skill development and social skills. Activities constantly change to hold onto those short attention spans! This class will build their self-confidence to help your child blossom.

PEEWEE BALLET/TAP COMBO (ages 2-4):
Exercises are designed to expand creativity & socialization in a classroom-setting while learning basic tap and ballet movements, technique, and terminology. Children will gain strength, flexibility, and increase coordination skills. Peewee dance will allow your child to build upon gross motor skills and learn to pick up different rhythms and tempos of movements. Combination class is approximately 20 minutes of tap and 20 minutes of ballet, allowing some time to change shoes. Dance shoes for 2 disciplines (ballet & tap) are REQUIRED.

PEEWEE TUMBLE TOTS (ages 2-4):
This 45 minute class offers young children an introduction to the fundamentals of tumbling that will provide the building blocks necessary for their development in dance and overall fitness. Students learn to stretch, increase balance and body control, and learn beginner tumbling skills. In addition, students will learn tumbling terminology and foundational skills all while being taught in a fun and age-appropriate setting.

COMBO CLASSES (ages 5-7):
A one hour class in either BALLET & TAP or HIP HOP & JAZZ. Combo classes introduce the basic fundamentals and steps of the two styles of dance. Students will begin to focus on more detailed concepts in each dance form of dance. Dance shoes for both disciplines of the combo class are REQUIRED. Each class will rotate between the dance styles according to the instructor’s discretion.

BALLET
Ballet is the foundation of many dance forms, providing students with techniques needed to be proficient and confident in all other areas of dance and other athletics. Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Emphasis is strictly placed on technique and the development of body alignment, coordination, and stamina utilizing both barre and center floor work. Ballet classes are offered as combination classes to our younger students and progress to leveled classes at the discretion of RBDC staff based on age, experience, and ability. Proper Ballet attire (leotards and tights) and Ballet shoes are REQUIRED for all Ballet classes.

POINTE (Strictly by RBDC recommendation only)
For students who have shown improved strength, discipline and are ready to move to a more advanced level of ballet. All Pointe classes are offered by invitation only. Each student needs to be evaluated by the RBDC staff before entering a Pointe class. We take the dancer's safety very seriously and encourage at home strength-training programs specified by our staff for each dancer individually.

JAZZ
Jazz dance is an exploration of style, technique, and presentation. Classes emphasize body alignment, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization as well as fun and innovative choreography. Jazz dancers will learn progressions across the floor focused on improving coordination, turns, leaps, flexibility, and strength. Students will be challenged by learning different Jazz styles and techniques as well as choreography.
* Dancers will perform in our Annual Showcase.
HIP HOP
Hip Hop dance refers to street dance styles performed to Hip Hop music or that have evolved as part
of Hip Hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles; old and new urban, street and pop dance styles
The dancing represents body movements coordinated with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music. Hip Hop dancing is dynamic and helps the dancers improve strength and conditioning, musicality, and develop balance and coordination. Hip Hop also helps build a solid foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

MODERN
Modern is an expressive form of dance based on the philosophies of Graham, Horton, Hawkins, Brown, and Limon. Students will gain a strong foundation in Modern dance and work to explore their own form of self-expression through movement combinations and choreography.

LYRICAL
Lyrical is a combination of ballet and jazz dance techniques to create an emotional and expressive dance. Students will be challenged as they learn specialized leaps and turns, elegant movements and how to create specific lines and shapes of the body. In a Lyrical dance, students will use their body language and facial expressions as a method for storytelling and creating a connection with an audience.

CONTEMPORARY
A blend of styles developed from ballet, jazz, lyrical and modern dance styles. This type of dance requires strong technical skills and creativity. Students will learn stylized choreography and movements with a focus on musicality, rhythm, strength, speed and spatial awareness. Contemporary dance encourages dancers to be versatile in their expressions, being able to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotion.

TAP
Tap focuses on one of the most important qualities of a dancer, musicality and rhythm. Tap is a form of dance utilizing rhythms and patterns of foot movements. Students will learn rhythm tap, which focuses more on music and rhythms and Broadway tap, which focuses more on dance. Dancers will learn different rhythms, patterns, dance steps, terminology, history and choreography as they gain confidence.

BROADWAY JAZZ/MUSICAL THEATRE
This class curriculum is based on jazz technique layered with Broadway style Jazz movement. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. Students will learn the basics of character development implementing technique while dancing, and using movement to tell a story. Students will not only build a strong performance technique, but also gain self-confidence in a supportive, positive and most, of all, fun environment. Dancers are required to purchase character shoes/heels for this class.

COMMERCIAL & STREET DANCE FUSION
This fusion class dance pulls moves from jazz, hip hop, breaking, popping, locking, krumping, whacking and other street dance, combining the latest street and funk styles to create the hottest new class available at RBDC. These styles are diverse and often infuse other styles of dance. They involve footwork, radical movement and emphasis placed on musicality. Commercial dance can be seen in music videos, on tv, on social media, in advertising, in cheer & dance team routines, and more. All have a lot of energy and fun involved and are great to help you boost your confidence and increase your fitness levels.

TEAM FUSION
A technique-based Team required class or for intermediate/advanced competitive dancers with previous technical training, focusing across disciplines of dance for a well-rounded dance education.

STUDENT CHOREO/IMPROV
In this exciting class and unique class to RBDC, students learn basic improvisation, dance composition and choreography technique. Students use these techniques to choreograph dances. In addition to learning the tools and theory of choreography, students explore concepts in lighting, staging, costuming, and music selection. Students will develop technical skills and artistic expression through floor and standing exercises, traveling movements, phrase-work, and musicality. Improvisation is a unique and an artistic form of self-expression that allows a dancer to react to their feelings and the tone of the music authentically.

ACRO/GYMNASTICS/TUMBLING/TRICKS
Acro (acrobatics/tumbling) is centered on fundamental acrobatic technique to increase flexibility, strength,
and balance. Classes focus on proper form and body alignment with emphasis on the muscles and flexibility required to perform proper technique. Students gain more self-awareness about their body alignment as they perform coordinated, challenging movements, which, in addition, increases strength and flexibility. Students will have one on one time with a certified instructor while working on age & ability appropriate skills. Classes are leveled at the discretion of and by recommendation of certified RBDC staff for safety.

TLT (TECHNIQUE/LEAPS/TURNS)
A Comp Team based technique class requirement or for advanced dancers with previous technical training. This class will build off of prior knowledge and ability to develop precision and accuracy in technical skills. Students will work on proper alignment and stretching and strengthening techniques, flexibility, conditioning exercises, body awareness, injury prevention, and build proper muscle strength and mobility to help improve their execution of leaps, turns, jumps and other dance skills/tricks. Class will incorporate drills, exercises, across the floor combinations, floor work and more to train and develop further in technical skills and ability.

SOARING STARS
This class offered is for students with Autism, Down Syndrome, and other developmental disabilities. The program is a great way for children with special needs to get involved in an extracurricular activity while improving motor skills, confidence, and socialization. This class will allow students to increase socialization, express emotion, and gain muscle control. Through simple patterns, sequencing, and repetition, students will learn the basics of movement, rhythm, and jazz dance. Some creative movement and yoga are incorporated into class, too. *Individual and group sessions are available.
